Unimportant. I haven't made a single post about band camp, and school is in three days. Let me summarize:

-FRESH MEAT BAND KIDS ARE NOT CUTE, THEY ARE ANNOYING

-MY FRIEND IS PLAYING QUADS THIS YEAR HOLY CRAP WE HAVE A QUAD PLAYER :DDDD

-I MISS KIRBY BUT DOC IS A PRETTY COOL GUY TOO. HE MAKES POLISH JOKES AND DOESN'T AFRAID OF ANYTHING.

-HIS WIFE HAS A HUSKY AND CHASES AFTER PEDOS TOO

-WE ARE PLAYING JAMES BOND MUSIC THAT WILL NEVER LEAVE MY HEAD

-THE AMOUNT OF PAIN AND FUN I AM GOING THROUGH IS WORTH EVERY CAPSLOCK YOU SEE

BAND CAMP STARTS TOMORROW, GUYS.

PROS:
-Seeing all my friends again. (yes, all of them, I am that much of an outcast)
-Playing music again (though 'music' is used lightly, it's not like bass drum DOES ANYTHING)
-Getting exercise (ghhhhhhh)
-Drinking horrific amounts of powdered lemonade (I BRING A WHOLE GIANT THERMOS TO BAND CAMP, I NEED IT.)
-Seeing the new director

CONS:
-Having no life outside of band for the next THREE MONTHS
-Annoying everyone with SO THIS ONE TIME AT BAND CAMP (actually a pro, but a con for you guys <3)
-Getting exercise
-Marching around in eighty degree weather wearing ten pounds of purple uniform
-Lack of time to do homework (MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF HOMEWORK, MIGHT I ADD)
-Seeing the new director...who isn't Kirby :c

Mostly I'm worried about not getting any of this nonsense done before school starts, but I JUST FOUND OUT TODAY that I don't have to read Crime and Punishment until the second semester~

gggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn tl;dr I am such a selfish whiny lazy procrastinating ambitionless bitchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

So the last few days have been taken up by ~MASSACHUSETTS~! Meaning, college tours. Yay.

First we went to Vassar, which was in upstate New York, not Massachusetts, but it was on the way there. It's basically a hippy school. They have an entire dorm for vegans/vegetarians, which I thought was kind of awesome and Alex should go there. The architecture was nice, especially this one building that looks like something out of Alice in Wonderland. Also, it has a whistling a capella group. So that was kind of awesome.

Next was Amherst (WOO HOO AIMIN' HIGH) which I will never get in to. IT HAS LIKE A TEN PERCENT ACCEPTANCE RATE AND WANTS KIDS TO TAKE EIGHT AP CLASSES AND GHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. But. It was so pretty and it's in the Five College consortium, meaning I can take free bus rides to any of the other four colleges, take classes at the other four colleges (including U-Mass, which has a fantastic language program apparently) and ghhhhhhhhh. So, since I'm too dumb to go to Amherst, what is the solution?

Smith was definitely my favorite. "But Slush," you say, "I know you're a hardhearted sexist bitch, but isn't going to an all-girl's school a bit extreme?" Well, my friends, that's the thing. It's also in the Five College thingy, so it's not completely guy-proof. I can still go to U-Mass parties or guys will take classes at Smith or yadda yadda yadda. It's just that the dorms will be all-female, which would be a lot more comfortable for me than, say, Vassar and its COED BATHROOMS AAAAAAA. Besides that, Smith just sounds like a fun little community and the course catalog looks great. NOW I JUST NEED TO GET ACCEPTED HURF.

Yesterday was Williams, which...I thought I would really really like. It was my first choice before we left to actually go there. Except...it wasn't all that fantastic. The campus was so big and all the buildings looked the same, so we were lost constantly, for one thing. Their language program sounds like they just sort of threw it together to appease the masses; Spanish and French are just two subcatagories under "Romance Languages," instead of, y'know, actually being in the course catalog as separate entities. I dunno, that seems kind of rude. itt slush defends the honor of FRENCH what am i Maybe it was because I saw SMITH the day before and nothing else could impress me. I dunno. The class on Eskimo Warfare did sound great though. The final project is a big snowball fight. BUT IT'S NOT ONE OF THE FIVE COLLEGES SO NYEEEEH.

tl;dr I fail at picking colleges

To summarize the past week:

The beach is awesome!
Menstruation is not!



Also black stories is the best thing in the world. You know those puzzles like "Romeo and Juliet are lying in a puddle of water and broken glass, what happened." Some German guy collected a bunch of them and made up a few and put them in a box. HILARITY ENSUES. My favorite involves iguana steak

I also got to see my cousins for the first time in a while, which was fantastic. I also have the best aunt ever. There was Scrabble and chilling in the hot tub and. black stories. (they're also called lateral thinking puzzles in case you don't know what I'm talking about)

Oh and at one point my little cousin Kelly and I were at the beach, and my mom had an empty beer bottle in her hand. Kelly found a shell and tried to convince us that it was alive. We were skeptical. Eventually she popped it in the beer bottle with some water and sand and IT HAD LITTLE JELLY LEGS AND DUG UNDER THE SAND. Jump to half an hour later and we have thirty clams in the same bottle. Poor cramped things.

Oh and I'm addicted to Pokemon Platinum. Like a lot.

Fun fact of the day: Analyzing literature can be really creepy when you realize you're pretty much the same person as a character in what you're analyzing.

...Okay, there's nobody home, and as far as I know there isn't any work being done in our front yard today (I can't tell through the trees though)

...So why do I hear the sounds of huge machinery. Not just airplane noises, but like. Drills.

If there's a dogfight going on above my house I'm going to sue someone. That's not cool.

I'd just like to log this epic amazing Pokebattle I just had.

So I was battling Fantina the gym leader expecting to only have to use my Prinplup and possibly my Budew.

Prinplup was down on her second Pokemon so I switched to Budew. Nothing unusual.

Then Budew was down and so was Geodude so I had to throw in my lowish-level Ponyta. It managed to maim Fantina's second Pokemon well enough so I thought I might have a chance at beating her.

Except her third Pokemon was Haunter who proceeded to Shadow Claw Ponyta.

And then my Shinx. I wasn't really putting money on Shinx anyway.

Now I'm screwed because all I have left is my Togepi. My level 1 Togepi that had just hatched from an egg.

"WELP OKAY HAUNTER, JUST SHADOW CLAW ME OUT OF MY MISERY."

Except it didn't.

Shadow Claw doesn't affect Togepi so all it had left to use were Hypnosis, Confuse Ray, and Sucker Punch.

Sucker Punch never worked.

It couldn't do any damage to me.

Not only that but all Togepi has is Charm and Growl. I could not damage it at all.

I WAS HOPING THIS WOULD BE THE PART WHERE I SAY I JUST KEPT USING CHARM AND GROWL UNTIL I DEFEATED HAUNTER WITH STRUGGLE but then Togepi kept hitting himself in its confusion until it fainted.

Man.

STILL EPIC oh my god I'm a dork

So I spent my first day back in the US of A playing Pokemon Platinum, watching Jack play the Orange Box, and whining about how lousy our internet is.

I also had cheeseburgers for dinner.

But seriously for anyone who was hoping to contact me today uh. Sorry 'bout that, the internet's been sporadic all day.

BUT MY DEAREST FATHER FIXED IT SO EVERYTHING IS OKAY NOW.

So who wants to hear about my Pokemon. I do. I have decided that this game will be the one where I give all of my Pokemon the most retarded nicknames ever. To give you an idea, my rival's name is VERSACE. No, the caps weren't for emphasis. That's how I spelled it. VERSACE.

And my Piplup's name is Yamapi. Now he's a Prinplup so it isn't as catchy, but. Y'know.

Also after playing Platinum while curled up comfortably in my bed for a while I decided taking a nap would be nice, ignoring the fact that the sun was still telling me "Uh hey man it's kind of still daylight" but I was like "Shut uuuup all this Pokecatching is hard work" so I fell asleep.

Mom woke me up just now to tell me it was only 11 at night and I should probably put some pajamas on.

OKAY, YOU CAN IGNORE THAT LAST WANGSTPOST BECAUSE TODAY WAS MUCH BETTER.

Went to the city, found out that I had barely any money left just as we were about to leave the car to go shopping but I still had enough to get a copy of Der Vorleser. I wanted an authentic German copy of a Cornelia Funke book but just Thief Lord cost like 18 Euros so uh. :c Maybe I'll buy one from the internets.

So after that we went to some guy's 60th birthday party, I think it was a family friend? So it was made of Russian and I don't understand but I did get a chance to apologize to those boys from yesterday for being such a bitch.

They had no idea what I was talking about.

Awesome! Time to go get cocktails!
